Today’s Saturday Spotlight is all about… Caffeine! Not only is caffeine amazing for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up, but did you know that it is also a great addition to your skincare routine?! (Coffee lovers rejoice!)
What is caffeine?
Caffeine is a natural stimulant that can be found in coffee, tea, and even chocolate! In the same way that drinking caffeine can stimulate your brain, it can stimulate your skin when used in your skincare.
What about caffeine makes it so beneficial?
Caffeine does a ton of work and has a wide range of benefits for your skin- on your face and body! It can help target skin conditions like rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, cellulite, stretch marks, scarring, acne, and dry skin. (Fun Fact: Coffee contains the same pH level as your skin, so it won’t cause any damage or dryness.) It helps prevent premature aging and decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. All the antioxidants packed in caffeine make it the perfect ingredient to target any pesky free-radicals floating around that cause additional imperfections. We have to say that our favorite benefit is the tightening, toning, and improvement of texture in the skin!

Another quick and easy option is making your own facemask at home:
Mix coconut oil + leftover coffee grounds
Apply a smooth layer on your face for 15 minutes
Rinse and done!
