Spotlight on Avocado
From avocado toast to avocado facials, it seems like we just can’t get enough of this creamy fruit… and for good reason! Avocados boast a variety of health benefits, and their versatile taste and texture make it easy to incorporate them into your diet or beauty routine.
Avocados are packed with nutrients that nourish your hair, skin, and eyes, including Vitamin K, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C (read more about Vitamin C benefits here and check our Vitamin C facial here). They also pack in more potassium than bananas, making them a great pre-workout snack.
We love doing avocado facials at home. The natural oils and water in avocados are great for skin because they are very moisturizing and hydrating. The oils penetrate deeply into the skin and the water promote softness.
You have probably heard that avocados are high in fat – but the good news is that they’re made up of a fat also known as monounsaturated fatty acids. This kind of fats reduces inflammation, nourishes your organs, and feeds your brain for optimal health, brain function, heart health, and glowing skin. Additionally, their fiber content help you feel more full so they are diet-friendly.
Clearly, there’s a reason these little fruits appear on so many menu items! To change it up, try adding half an avocado to a creamy fruit smoothie, use it as an alternative to mayonnaise in your sandwich, or give avocado oil a try to nourish your skin.
